For Law Enforcement Officers DVD and Manual
Ground Fighting Techniques is a 41 minute instructional DVD that will show you how to survive when the fight goes to the ground.
Instructor Mark McClish is a retired Deputy United States Marshal with 26 years of federal law enforcement experience and 30 years in the martial arts.
From 1992 - 1999, he was the lead defensive tactics instructor at the U.S. Marshals Service Training Academy.
During this time he introduced ground fighting to the Marshals Service and to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
Instructor McClish worked out with three time Ultimate Fighting Champion Royce Gracie who helped him refine the program for the Marshals Service. Mr. McClish is only one of two civilians to attend the Navy Seals "Combat Fighting Course"
at the Naval Special Warfare Center in Coronado, CA.

Many fights and physical confrontations end up on the ground.
Once on the ground many of the traditional strikes taught at the training academy are no longer available
or are not as effective. Utilizing your intermediate weapons may become difficult when on the ground.
Techniques for controlling an individual on the ground are drastically different
than when standing. While jiu jitsu classes teach some very effective control techniques they
usually do not address certain issues relevant to law enforcement.
In this DVD, Instructor McClish addresses some common control techniques as well as those issues unique to the field of law enforcement such as de-escalation of force, weapon retention, and placing the subject into a handcuffing position.
